Recently hired Director of Golf; Kit Thomson, is currently overseeing the construction of the clubhouse and implementing the business plan for this new 7001 par 71 design that the Sam Houston State University Golf Team will call home. “We had originally scheduled to open in the fall of 2002, but do to abnormal amount of rainfall we received during construction, we decided that it would be in the best interest of the project to open in the spring of 2003. I truly believe that we have created on of the premier Municipal Golf Courses in the country and this can be attributed to commitment The City of Huntsville has shown throughout the development of the project. I would personally like to commend the work and commitement that golf course builder Duininck Bros showed on this project. Their highly organized approach and commitment to being a team player made it a very rewarding project,” adds Tripp.
