May 22, 2000 Olathe, KS - Thanks to a mild fall and winter, construction is well ahead of schedule on Prairie Highlands, an 18-hole, Par-72 golf course being developed by Heartland Golf Development L.L.C. of Kansas City. Schreiner partnered with Todd Clark, his firm's Senior Architect, and David Francis, a local businessman to form Heartland Golf Development L.L.C. nearly three years ago with the intent to develop an affordable, community oriented public golf course in the Kansas City metro area. "Like a lot of our client's projects, Prairie Highlands has been a long time in the making. The knowledge we've gained as equity partners in this project is invaluable and certainly gives me a different perspective that will be of benefit to our clients in the future," said Craig Schreiner.

The projects name evolved from the land that the golf course is built on - 182 acres of gently rolling land that skirts the prairie. "Native grasses and wildflowers will be planted on subtle contours to frame the golf holes," said Todd Clark. "We really made it a high priority to fit every golf hole with the natural movement of the site. This approach allowed us to layout a very walkable golf course and to generate over 550 homesites surrounding the golf course." Prairie Highlands is being built by DBI Golf Construction of Minnesota and is expected to open in June 2001.
