Three GCBAA Members Receive Golf Course Builder Certification

November 2000 – The Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) announces the Golf Course Builder Certification of three of its members: Duininck Brothers Golf, Golf Creations and Reed H. Berlinsky, Inc.

Established in 1992, the GCBAA professional certification program includes several stringent requirements designed to identify competent and experienced golf course builders and ensure uniform quality standards. GCBAA certified builders must be in the golf construction business for at least five years, complete construction of three 18-hole golf courses in the past five years, provide several professional and financial references, attend a GCBAA educational session annually, pass a written certification exam, and engage in ethical business practices.

Dave Munkvold is general manager of Duininck Brothers Golf based in Prinsburg, Minn. The company has been specializing in all aspects of golf course construction since the early 1980s and a member of GCBAA since March, 1997.

Golf Creations has been involved in renovation, restoration and new construction projects throughout the United States since its founding in 1987. Bryon Deaner is project manager for the company which is based in Marengo, Ill. Golf Creations has been a member of GCBAA since January, 1999.

Reed H. Berlinsky, Inc., a member of GCBAA since September, 1999, is a full service golf course construction company offering 25 years of experience in the golf course construction and renovation industry. The company is based in St. Cloud, Fla.

The Golf Course Builders Association of America is a nonprofit trade association of the world's foremost golf course builders and leading suppliers to the golf course construction industry. It was founded in the early 1970s, and its members represent all segments of the golf course construction industry. Their national executive office is located in the historic Haymarket district in Lincoln, Neb.
